Quotes

“One of the most profound experiences occurred when I had a particularly vivid dream one night of matter, all earthly matter, being conscious. It was a stunning dream in which I was communicating with all matter as one body. It communicated back to me as one consciousness although it never stopped being all its forms and going on as matter does in our daily life. Toward the end of the dream, I had a startling realization. All matter was actually part, and manifested art, of The Divine Mother’s consciousness. I saw the incredible surrender She makes from formlessness into form as an act and gift of love in her universal dance of intimacy and creative tension with Divine Father, who is entwined with her. I saw the cells as beings, actual beings who function as reflective emissaries of her divine formation…they carry her qualities in representation. They are her representational art and she produces them with flagrant generosity (for a committed introvert, this was a dream of shocking beauty).”

“The cells are communicating with us constantly. In their signs and signals they communicate with us, with their starts and bursts of high and low responses: the tears which burst into our eyes when we feel great emotion; the lurch in our bellies when we feel frightened; the involuntary grimace of facial muscles when we see something terrible and respond with empathy; the paralysis of our muscles when we feel exhaustion; the warm glow spreading from heart throughout body when we feel love; the tension in our backs when we feel burdened; the sweep of hand to heart when we feel relief; the movement forward of the body when we feel attracted. All of these movements of cells and millions of others like them are signals, signs, communications from the cells to our awareness. We can listen to these and respond to them with delight and heightened awareness. We can also go deeper into this cellular signaling constancy of our own bodies and develop it even more. We can become adept communicators with our own bodies. We can become intimately conversant with our own cells.”

“This erring race of human beings dreams always of perfecting their environment by the machinery of government and society; but it is only by the perfection of the soul within that the outer environment can be perfected. What thou art within, that outside thee thou shalt enjoy; no machinery can rescue thee from the law of thy being.”              Sri Aurobindo

“There are people who love adventure.  It is these I call, and I tell them:  ‘I invite you to the Great Adventure.’  It is not a matter of repeating spiritually what others have done before us, for our adventure begins beyond that.  It is a matter of a new creation, entirely new, with all the unforeseen events, the risks, the hazards it entails.  It is a real adventure, of which the goal is certain victory, but the road to which is unknown and must be made step by step in the unexplored.  It is something that has never existed in this present universe and that will never be again in the same way.  If this interests you, well, embark.  What is awaiting you tomorrow, I couldn’t say.  You must leave behind all you have foreseen, all you have planned, all you have built up, and start walking into the unknown – come what may!  And that is that.”                            The Mother (Questions and Answers 1957)

“….in every particle, atom, molecule, cell of Matter there live hidden and work unknown all the omniscience of the Eternal and all the omnipotence of the Infinite.”                   Sri Aurobindo

  1. The meaning behind these words is the eternal truth of expression and reflection within the Light of Infinite intelligence and consciousness. Knowing, wisdom, certainty and clarity of eternity in presence, married with all that is omnipresent. Joy is in the journey within. 🙂
